Victor Lindelof of Manchester United is looking forward to going head-to-head with Robert Lewandowski when Sweden takes on Poland in a winner-takes-all match for a place in the 2022 World Cup this evening.
Sweden qualified for the Path B play-off final with a 1-0 win over the Czech Republic on Thursday night, thanks to a goal from Robin Quaison in extra time. They will now play Poland in Chorzow for a spot in the Qatar finals.
After being drawn against Russia in the play-off final, Poland was given a bye. Due to FIFA sanctions imposed after Russia's invasion of Ukraine last month, Russia was unable to participate in the match.
Meaning that the Poles, who placed second behind England in their qualifying group, are only one game away from reaching the finals without having to advance through a semi-final.
Both countries made it to the 2018 tournament after missing out in 2010 and 2014, and they will be anxious to make it a second time.
Sweden, on the other hand, will have to deal with the threat posed by Poland's Lewandowski if they are to qualify for Qatar. But Lindelof, who is expected to be charged with containing the Bayern Munich star, is relishing the job.
