A Young Referee's Actions After 7-Year-Old Goalkeeper Didn't Want To Play Anymore Go Viral.
Many people have commended the kind gestures of a referee who consoled a young goalkeeper during a cup final on social media.
Every weekend, Harry Nixon, a 17-year-old A-Level student from Rotherham, covers at least two or three matches and frequently officiates larger age groups.
Last Saturday, though, the adolescent was given an invitation to the U8 cup final, which was a high-scoring affair.
After conceding "a few" during that match, one of the young goalkeepers opted to go to the ground. According to Harry's father, Lee, he didn't want to keep playing.
Referee Harry hurried over to console the U8's shot-stopper after seeing him on the ground. He sat down, had a calming conversation with the boy, and then went to his work.
