During this week's discussion, Manchester United executives were impressed by Ajax coach Erik ten Hag.

According to the Telegraph, Ten Hag passed his United interview with flying colors.

Earlier this week, the Dutchman became the first, at least publicly known, managerial contender to undertake a formal interview for the soon-to-be-vacant role at Old Trafford, and other conversations are expected to follow.

After the 52-year-old described his concept and vision for the club, Ten Hag's interview is said to have been 'good.'

Ten Hag was said to be ahead of PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino in the race yesterday.
